This relay will consist of 20 laps (each lap is just over 1 kilometer) making the total distance roughly 13.5 miles. Just like pit row, teams will line the field as their teammates race around the track awaiting the signal to hand-off, which can happen in any order and after any given number of laps. There is no required distance for each runner, nor is there a specific order of hand-off that has to be followed. It’s quite simple: your team needs to complete a total of 20 laps to finish the relay!
