What does it cost to file bankruptcy?

One of the very first questions people, who are thinking about filing for bankruptcy, ask is, “what does it cost?” Most attorneys don’t like to publish their fees, but we are different. We feel that people in need of bankruptcy help, want and need to know how much this life-changing help is going to cost them. So here is how much we charge and why we charge it.

We charge flat fees. That allows everyone to know exactly what getting out of debt will cost. While we charge flat fees, we do not charge a one-size-fits-all fee to every client because not every client has the exact same needs and issues. We do make sure that we only charge you for what you need and nothing more.

Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

Here’s how we charge for Chapter 7 case. We start out with certain core services. These are services that we have to provide even the simplest of cases. There are certain things that must be done pursuant to law. Such things include an initial consultation, gathering information and documents, setting up a file, analyzing information about your assets, your debts, your income, your expenses, and your goals, preparing you for your meeting of creditors, appearing with you in court, writing letters on your behalf, etc. These are things that must be done in every case. For these core services, we charge $1,200.

From this basic, core, fee, additional services may or may not be warranted. In addition to this core fee, additional fees can include
